August 30, 2004:  LOL, ok, so I neglected my journal for the past couple of weeks. Let me give at least a quick summary of what I've been up to:

Last two week, I've spent Sun-Wed of each week in Denver, CO. I flew out there for business and the trips went well. Didn't really get to see too much of the area, but I got to meet a bunch of my co-workers face to face for the first time and that was really cool!

Last Friday, I drove down to West Lake Village to see Adam "Skinny Daug" Arnold and Meredith for a day. It was a quick visit (as I had to fly out to Denver that Sunday), but it was really great to see them. Adam and I kicked back and I had the honor of listening to some of his cool new tunes that he wrote/played for me on his guitar. They were really great and I always love hearing him play.  Though the visit was short, it was well worth the 10 hours worth of driving to see my brother :)

My back continues to heal up pretty well. Because of the traveling I've been doing (and because I've been a bit lazy), I've been slacking on my exercise (walking) and I'm starting to feel it. I put on three and a half pounds over the last three weeks and that sucks! Starting this weekend, I'll be back on the exercise/diet wagon and moving on to my next goal weight.  Let's see June 1-July 12 I lost over twenty pounds brining me down to 230. Today, I'm at 233.5. My goal for August 13 will be to be at 220 or less. Let the games begin! :-)

All in all, life is good. Lots more to write, but don't feel like it right now. Just wanted to put something in here to let people know I'm alive and kicking :)

August 7, 2004: Let's see, what's new.... well, on the health side, my back continues to heal up pretty well. It's still a bit tender where they cut me open, but all in all, it's healing up nicely. My actual back is still far from where it was before, but I start physical therapy in about a week, which is a good thing. I'm sure that will continue to help my recovery move along in the right direction.

I'm actually flying to Denver, CO this weekend and will be there until Tuesday night. I'm going out there for work. I'm actually looking forward to the trip, as I'm going to get to meet some fellow co-workers face to face that I've worked with for years, but have never met in person.

LOL, I had to go out and buy a new pair of slacks, shirts and shoes for this trip, as all of my old crappy stuff was too big! Heheh, good feeling to get some nice new clothes, but for those of you who know me, you know that I only wear pants on rare occasions. Well, maybe that'll start to change after the summer passes (and I continue to lose more weight).

Well, this is a cool picture of Porky's new family member, Blaze. Porky adopted him from the Danbury, CT animal shelter. Porky reports "He was dropped off by a family that was moving. He's a 5 year old Pitbull mix and he's a total mush. no behavior problems at all.".

got an email from James Canders yesterday. In a nutshell, he's doing ok over in Iraq. He's expecting to leave there in about six weeks, though he's actually hoping to stay until November to make a few more $$. He's looking for new job opportunities all over the world. He's sent resumes out to places here in the US, Antartica, Canada... heck, I think it's pretty cool! No better time to see the world then while you are young!

I spoke with Travis aka "Shoebox" yesterday. He's doing well out in Fayetteville, NC, and still with the USAF. Not too much going on w/him. He found out that he will NOT be deployed to Iraq again this fall (at least for now), though much of the rest of the base is heading over there. Travis was over there about a year ago.

Next weekend, I'm thinking of heading down to Southern, CA to see Adam Arnold. We haven't seen in other in many months and it's about time to rectify that. Should make for a fun weekend!

That's about all for now. Hope all is well in your world :)

August 1,2004:  I hope that you've registered to vote so that you can be counted on to help make a difference this year.  If you're like me, you're going to help vote that unethical moronic idiotic president of ours out of office!  And even if you don't agree with me, well, at least vote so you can be counted (unless you reside in certain states where your vote just may not count!)

Have you seen Fahrenheit 911 yet? If not, I recommend you do. At the very least, it's going to make you think....
