February 28, 2010: And so, I now find myself in New Hampshire with my dog, a suitcase full of clothes, and a couple pictures of my puppy. All of my stuff and my car are somewhere in transit across country and I won't see any of it for another week or so. Kind of a weird feeling, but I'm thankful to be staying with one of my best friends and his terrific wife. Without Paul and Kara's awesome hospitality, this would be a really crazy moment.
Yesterday was my last day in CA and it was a pretty amazing day.... I had my last meeting with Thomas, which was tearful for both of us... I had a wonderful lunch with Justin and he got the chance to say good-bye... my last meal was at Mission Beach Cafe with Matt Consola, Chris Land and Eric Chamberlain (I had the lamb shank, we opened 2 amazing bottles of wine, and I sat there holding hands and giving Eric puppy eyes the entire time) .... After dinner, went back to my place with Eric and he fell asleep on the air mattress. Instead of waking him up, I spent the entire rest of the night cuddling with him and watching him sleep. It's amazing how someone who you already see as beautiful becomes that much more of an angel when they are sleeping.....
Around 6:00 Eric and I got up and shortly there after, he was dropping me off at the airport. It was pretty much a scene from a movie, where neither one of us wanted to let go and say good-bye and it was complete with the me walking into the terminal, turning around and seeing him standing there and me dropping my bags and running back to give him one last hug and kiss........ thank you Eric.
February 24, 2010: Well the moving trailer from ABF U-Pack showed up today right on time at 10:30 AM. I has Chris Land and Chris Allen with me to help pack it up and by 1:30 PM, we were all done! The boys did a nice job of helping me out and I greatly appreciated that. By 2:30, the trailer was picked up and on it's way across country. Be interesting to see what survives the trip :)
My apartment is empty now. Nothing left inside except an air mattress, suitcase full of clothes, and lots of memories....
February 22, 2010: I'm all finished packing and ready to go. Feels good and weird.
I've been spending every free minute that I can with Eric. I feel so happy when I'm around him... I know I'm going to miss him a lot when I move. I'm very thankful that he came into my life at the time he did. Even if we're only destined to have spend these last two months together, what an amazing time it's been :) But we'll see what the future has in store.... even if we only end up as friends, I'll still be a very happy puppy!
February 14, 2010: What a wonderful day and such an amazing difference between where I am now and where I was a year ago :)
Eric came over around noon bearing homemade dog bone shaped chocolate chip cookies :) Hehehe and yes, they were yummy! We met up with Chris and Matt and headed down to San Jose for dinner with Anna and Ralph. Of course, it was another amazingly wonderful meal but this time, it was even better cause Eric was there. Heheheh, yeah.... he adds a bit of sunshine into my life that just makes everything that much better and this meal was no exception :) Just before dinner, Anna presented me with a going away gift of my first piece of Le Cruset! It's a beautiful pan and one that I'll be cooking in for many many years to come. Such a thoughtful gift and I can't wait to use it :)
After spending the afternoon in San Jose, we'd head back up to the city, getting in around 6ish. Still having a bunch of energy, I joined Eric for a night of dancing at the event called PLAY. It was a glow stick party at the DNA lounge and there was plenty of dancy, trancy music to move to. LOL, we danced until almost midnight before finally taking off and crashing out and I gotta say, it was just an amazingly fun night!!!! :D
February 13, 2010: Had a fantastic night last night. Eric and I ended up going out to Magnum/Sweat at DNA Lounge for a night of dancing, sweating and beers. We got there around 10 and pretty much danced the entire night! Hehehe, it was amazing. I haven't had that much fun out at a club like that since ..... oh I don't know, ever!?!? :) Though it was a bear event, and we certainly fit that criteria, we were the two cutest pups there that night!
This month is going by way too fast..... two weeks from now, I'll be moving to New Hampshire. I'm still very excited and happy about this new self induced adventure, but I just have to chuckle at the universe bringing me and Eric together at this moment. Without going into too much, all I'm going to say, is that I'm enjoying every single minute that I can with him while I'm still here. After that, together, we'll see what happens. All I know is that I care for him a lot, he makes me feel simply amazing and he feels the same about me :)
February 12, 2010: Well, it all started with another fun weekend! On Saturday, I went to dinner with Ryan at Q Restaurant. Oh my, what a great find! We had started with: Potato Croquettes with Asiago, Rosemary and Smoked Tomato Salsa and Black Mussels of love (steamed in a pilsner with sultry chipoltes, garlic and butter. For the main course it was Duck Confit (with a dried cherry-pinot noir reduction topped with cypress grove goat cheese on fried polenta and grilled asparagus) and Macaroni and Cheezy tator tots For desert, Gilled Banana (with with whipped cream, caramelized walnuts chocolate and caramel sauce and Brinn's Wickedly Forbidden Apple Crisp! The wine was a wonderful 2007 Schug Pinot Noir that I highly recommend you try out :)
After dinner, Ryan took off and I headed over to Eric's housewarming party. He, Jordan and Michael threw quite the fun bash at their place and I had a great time hanging out and seeing people I knew and making some new acquaintances :) I stayed over and spent most of the rest of Sunday with Eric :)
On Monday, I just took it easy that night (cause I needed a little rest!) and caught up on some TV. Just what the doctor ordered :)
On Tuesday night, I returned to Q Restaurant. with Eric and the meal was even more amazing (well, that's probably because I was with someone who makes my heart melt :) Hehe, we had the black mussels of love, I got the duck confit and he got the sea bass; all of which were amazing! For desert, warm gooey chocolate chip cookies with vanilla bean ice cream. Divine! :)
On Thursday Eric made me a wonderful dinner of juicy pork chops covered in apples and red onions with a orange marmalade gravy. YUM!!!!! Hehehe, after dinner, we watched WALL-E while we snuggled on the couch. Yeah..... a nice night :)
And today, I decided to surprise my pup with roses just a bit early. Why wait until Valentines Day on Sunday? And what's better than a dozen red roses? Two dozen with lots of hugs and kisses!
