July 28, 2005: Is it Friday yet!?!?! :) I'll be glad when the work week is done. Need to try and get to bed early tonight and get some sleep!

Just got back from a nice dinner with Ashish and Jill. Nikhil and Ajay are both doing well :)

July 27, 2005: Check out http://wip.warnerbros.com/marchofthepenguins/ and click on the trailer. I want to see this movie :)

July 25, 2005: Well, the BIG news is that on Tuesday July 19, Ajay Ashish Parikh was born!! He's absolutely gorgeous! Mother and son are doing well!!!!

Ajay Ashish Parikh @2:53am PDT. He came in at 8 lbs 12oz & 20 1/2 inches.
Seen here with proud parents Jill and Ashish :-)

Iwas out in Denver for most of last week on a business trip. I stayed in downtown Denver at the Executive Towers hotel. LOL, I'm not sure what type of executives stay there, but it wasn't anything I'd call upscale. Location was good though. I'll give them that.

Workwise, it was a very busy 4 days. I got a lot accomplished and had a great time seeing people and working with my new team. It was great for all of us to meet together, considering one of us in in CA, one in Denver, one in MA and one in NJ :)

Friday, I busted out of work a bit early and went over to see Ashish, Jill, Ajay and Nikhil :) Ajay is beautiful! He's got a full head of hair and is just gorgeous. His big brother (who turned 2 the week before) adores his baby brother and is adjusting well :)

This past weekend, I was up in Middletown (North of Calistoga, CA) visiting my friend Lonnie. We hadn't hung out in many months due to our collectively crazy schedules. LOL, we finally found a weekend that worked, so I headed up there on Saturday morning. Lonnie is a farrier (and for all of you who don't know what that is, he's a guy who does horse shoeing!). We met up with his friend Beverly that afternoon and she had gotten us tickets to attend the Napa Classic horse show. Well, that made for a fun afternoon. We first stopped off in town and put down a few drinks, then it was off to the show. We got some special treatment and got to share a table ringside (and belive me, that was special because you pay BIG $$ to sit there). We shared it with some funny old ladies who were a riot! LOL, to give you an idea of the crowd, Joe Montanna and his crew were sitting in the same section as us. Heheh, well, it was a hot day, there was lots of free wine to be had, so we got hammered and watched the horses! LOL, about 9:00 PM we left the show, went into town and continue to drink at some of the fun local watering holes. LOL, long story short, we drank a lot, danced a lot, and had a lot of fun!

The next day, I got up late and drove my sorry ass back home (uggh a very long 2.5 hour drive) where I would spend the rest of the afternoon/evening nesting on my couch, recovering from a fun night! LOL, well, ya have to do that ever once in a while, right? :)

Oh yeah, I got a new cell phone! Heheh, I killed my old Motorola V60 while I was in Denver so I had to get a new one. Since Porky and I have been talking about the new Motorola V710 he got and how much he loved the bluetooth features, I figured I'd go bluetooth to. So, the new Motorola E815 is now mine. Hehehe, I love this thing! I just orderd the Jabra BT800 headset (don't really like the Motorola one I got) so in a few days, I'll be all hooked up.

The color display on this phone is great and I LOVE the voice recognition software. It automatically reads all of your contacts so you can just say "Call John Smith" and it will figure it out. If there's more than one number, it'll ask you (home/mobile/office) to verify which one you want. Pretty damn cool :)

Well, that's about it for now. Time to chill and relax :)

July 17, 2005: Heheh ok, so I've been slacking on my journal entries. Let me do a quick one :)

On Tuesday July 12th, I turned 35!! I got taken out to lunch by my co-workers Rick, Shannon and Renette to the Mayflower restaurant for dim-sum! Mmmm, quite tasty. And, that night, Ashish and Jill took me out for a fantastic dinner at Mezze in Oakland. Oh my, the meal was wonderful, I had:

Ahi Tuna Tartare Avocado, English Cucumber, Apple,
Pine Nuts, Mint, Brunoise of Chilis
& Truffled-Lime Vinaigrette

Pan Roasted New Zealand Rack of Lamb
Roasted Garlic-White Bean Purée, Oven Roasted Tomato,
Spicy Eggplant Relish & Tamarind Verjus Rouge Reduction

Warm Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding
With Crème Chantilly

and we enjoyed an 03 Pinot Estate reserve from Melville winery (and darn it, they are all sold out!).

I got a lot of nice emails/card from my friends on that day which made it that much more special. The night before my friend Benny took me out for a few games of pool, beer and wings at the local bar which was a fun time. Thanks everyone for making the passing of another year a good experience :)

On Thursday night, Benny came down for for dinner and we hung out for a couple of hours. It was a nice visit, and after he left, the night was still young, so I decided to head out to the King of Clubs bar for a beer or two and to sing some karaoke. Hehehe, it's cool having a little local gay bar so close, and I had a blast just hanging out, drinking a few brews and singing some songs. Met a few nice people there and it made for a fun night.

Friday night, Becky flew into town and so we spent the evening over at Rob and Susan's. We had a great meal (Susan made fresh Hawaiian poke' and then grilled swordfish and salmon for dinner. Dessert was a wonderful medley of deserts from Draegers, picked up to mark my birthday! LOL, yummy!). We enjoyed a 2003 Grenache Rose from Unti with the meal, which complemented it nicely!

On Saturday, I woke up late and headed up to Healdsburg to visit Unti Vineyards and see my friends who own/run the winery. I spent about an hour or so in the tasting room and then another hour over at one of the owners house visiting with him. It made for a really nice afternoon, though it was HOT up there. Heheh, about 97 degrees in wine country compared to about 65 degrees in foggy San Francisco (only an hour South). I was going to head back to Atherton to visit with Becky and crew but since I'm spending all day Sunday with them, I changed plans and headed into the city and down to the Castro. I just wanted to hang out. Since it was fairly early, I walked around for a while, stopped in at a couple of bars to check things out and ended up parking myself at Daddy's for a few hours. Had a fun time there drinking a few pints of Guinness and chatting with a few nice guys. Made for a fun and relaxing evening and I was back at home by 10:30.

Today, I'm off to Rob and Susan's for a BBQ which will be an all day event. Tomorrow I'm taking off early and flying to Denver, CO for work. I'll be there through Thursday night.

That's all for now! I hope that all is well in your world :)

July 8, 2005: A few years ago I asked one of my co-workers how his day was going and he replied "today was one hell of a week". Well, in that respect, this past week was one hell of a month... but all is good now.

And so with that said, here are a couple of nice picts of Suzanne and Tim (and Tyler in his pool) from the 4th of July:

That's all for now. More updates after the weekend!
