July 23, 2007: Was a good weekend. Friday night I didn't do too much and just relaxed at home watching a couple of movies and going to bed early.

On Saturday afternoon I headed over to Ashish and Jill's for Ajay's BDay party which was also a party for Nikhil as well. I had a great time with the boys and hanging out with the group. LOL my friend Jack and his wife Kathy were there and I ended up spending most of the party sharing great conversation and bottle after bottle of wine with Jack. Hahah that was a lot of fun! Of course there was great food and company, which is the standard at the Parikh household :)

Penz and Ajay the birthday boy :)

Ajay and Nikhil suited up and ready to take flight to the moon!

2 adorable little monkeys :)

After the party, I headed back to the city. Since I was in a party type mood, I walked down to Truk, a cool little bar about 5 blocks away from me. There I spent the night drinking some Maker's and coke while talking to nice people (especially one handsome/interesting employee of the establishment :). A couple hours into my visit, Matt Consola came down to join me for a couple of drinks and we wound up hanging out and taking in the sights before we finally walked home. Always nice having a friend who just happens to be a neighbor as well.

On Sunday, Matt and Chad came up and took me out for lunch. We went to Chow's where we had a nice meal and got to hang out and do some catchinging up. Afterwards we took a walk to Delores Park burn off some of the calories and enjoy the weather.

They left a couple of hours later at which time I started reading the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow's book. It starts off action packed and continues that way through the entire book! I spend most of the afternoon/evening reading and ended up finishing it off today. It was GREAT!! You want to know the details of the book!?!! Well go read it :)

July 21, 2007: So along with the magic and mystery of the release of the new Harry Potter book (mine is in the mail!), today I received a very special package. About 7 months ago, I went back east to visit friends and family and during that trip, I got to visit my cousin Eric Bornstein. He was in the final stages of completeing his new art studio behind his house. He is a maskmaker and he has done some truly amazing pieces. After viewing some of masks for the better part of an hour and with a glass of wine in hand, I asked him if I could commission him to create a piece for me. He was a little surprised (in a happy way) that I had asked him to do this, because no one else in the family had ever done that. He gladly accepted the task and after working out the details of what the piece should look like (and what it would cost), he went to work. The piece took a bit of time to create, but it was worth the wait!

For more photos including a complete pictography of how the piece was created, visit my album! Also, if you'd like to learn more about the artist, visit his site Behind the Mask!

July 20, 2007: Took Clarice for a walk down at Fort Funston late this afternoon. Hehehe as you can see, it was a gorgeous day out we enjoyed the walk!

Saw Harry Potter on Wednesday night and it was great! Went with Matt C, Matt R, Nicole and Ian with the SF Movie Bears and we saw it at the IMAX theatre at the Metreon. We got there about an hour early and the line was already pretty big. We just hung out and waited in line enjoying some of the 'eye candy' that a group of 600 gay guys is bound to have :) The movie was really good. Not quite as much action as the previous one, but it was very well done. Great special effects and cinematography. I don't know how they do it but I'm glad that they do.

Heheh, I should have the new book early next week. I ordered it from Barnes and Noble and got the email that it shipped last night. Should see it here on Monday.

Not too many plans this weekend. Saturday afternoon going to see Ashish, Jill, Nikhil and Ajay. Both of the boys have their birthday this month so there will be a little party for them in the afternoon. On Sunday I'm planning on hanging out with Ben D. for a chunk of the day. All in all, a pretty tame weekend is planed (but maybe something more fun will come up!).

July 13, 2007: Well yesterday was my birthday and I turned 37! LOL what the hell is that all about!?!?! It's hard to believe that another year has passed so quickly but alas it has :) Thank you to everyone who called to wish me a happy birthday (Crenshaw, Tab, Tim/Suzanne/Seth, Gini, Paul, Kevin, Ryan, John, Matt H, Matt R, Matt C, Ian, Bryan, Ben, Chad, lol and the list goes on and on!).

I spent part of the day at the Burke Williams Day Spa where I enjoyed about 4 hours of spa treatment. Let's just say that it was super relaxing and enjoyable (hell, ya gotta treat yourself every once in a while, right?). Later on that night, Ian, Matt, Justin, Nicole, Bryan, and Matt took me out for a fantastic sushi dinner at Osaka Sushi down in the Castro. We ate and drank until we were stuffed on sushi and sake, yet we still found a bit of room for some gelato across the street afterwards :) We'd walk back to my place where we'd have a few beers and chill out. All in all, a very nice way to spend the night!

July 8, 2007: Was a nice weekend. Had the pleasure of spending Saturday night with John and Joseph who were on their way back from Humbolt Country to Pasadena. They gave us a call as they were passing through SF and Justin and I met up w/them for dinner. We went to Walzwerk, which is a fantastic little East German restaurant located a few blocks away from where I live. Over some good beer and food, we had a really nice dinner together and got the opportunity to catch up. It was great to see the two of them, as it had been quite a while. This year they celebrate 19 years of being together, which for any couple, is amazing! Hahah I look forward to meeting someone of whom I can do that with (soon!!!!!!).

Joseph, John and Clarice :)
