June 25, 2010: Friday is here! Been a pretty quiet week. Looking forward to working around the house this weekend and being outside :)
June 21, 2010: A fun and interesting past week! Last Thursday and this past Saturday, Paul and I went to see Jimmy Buffett down at Great Woods (it may be called the Comcast center, but it will always be Great Woods to me!). Oh boy, both days were a lot of fun! LOL and suffice to say, I was the only guy there wearing feathered boa's as a hat! Was awesome! Hehehe special thanks to Kara who was not able to go (as Paul said, she's the only one who can nurse Emma) but she still let her husband go to the show. A true parrot head at heart :)
And this past Friday, I said good bye to the BMW and picked up my new ride:
2009 Ford F-150 XLT. Basically, has every option on it with the exception of the navigation package. Used with only 9500 miles it, this puppy is brand new! Hehehehe I love it!
June 14, 2010: Wow, time is FLYING by!!! I can't believe we're already 1/2 way through June and 1/2 way through the year! So, let's see what's been going on....
All in all, life has been good. The house is coming along nicely. Inside, I've got most of the major projects that I wanted to have completed all finished up, and the ones that are remaining (such as updating kitchen appliances and remodeling the master bathroom), will come in due time. Until then, I've got a really comfortable home to live in and I am enjoying it a lot!
The outside of the house is pretty awesome. There have been so many amazing flowers and plants that have been springing up over the past few weeks that it's like Christmas every time I turn around "look, there's something new!" "what the heck is that!?!?" heheheeh, all part of the process of getting aquatinted with the property and reconnecting with mother nature. LOL on that note, I've learned to wear long pants and long sleeve shirts when working outside. I seem to have found a few plants that I'm allergic too; happily nothing to major, but I'm not a big fan of being itchy :)
I'm less that a month away from my 40th birthday, which right now, looks like it will be a pretty major event. I've got 7 people confirmed flying in from CA (Eric, Brian, Kai, Matt, Chris, Noam and Matte), Becky is coming up from FL, and another 40 or so people who will be coming from the local area. LOL yeah, gonna be quite the shindig!
Eric Chamberlain and I have continued to keep in touch quite a bit. The last two weeks in May through the first week in June, we talked to each other almost every day on Skype and that was pretty awesome. I love the fact that the technology exists where we can talk and see each other, even though we are so far away. It's the next best thing to being there with each other.
I admit, it has been a challenge for me to be so far away from someone of whom I have this wondrous connection with, but with that said, I'm glad that I'm in a healthier state of mind (when it comes to relationships) compared to where I was a year or two ago. Hahah, that doesn't make me miss him any less, but it does help with accepting the reality of the situation, which is, of course, complex. Yeah... lol, <sigh>.... life sure is funny sometimes.... but hey, we're still a part of each others lives and we're getting to enjoy some time together. I was able to see Eric about a month ago and then again at the beginning of this month, I flew out to San Francisco and was able to spend 5 days with him :) Yup.... I love having this puppy in my life and I'm going to enjoy every damn minute I can with him for as long as it's practical and appropriate for the two of us. Ahhhhhhhhh, I could write a book here, but I'm just going to leave it at that for now. WOOF!
On Friday June 4, Emma Barnes, weighing in at 9lbs 4oz joined this world! Paul and Kara (Dad and Mom) are both doing well. Kara did an amazing job and is recovering quite well, post delivery. Emma is absolutely beautiful!
