September 3, 2010: And in a single moment, life can turn on a dime and go from being good.... to being absolutely spectacular!!!
So Eric and I were texting today and I asked him what he was up to and he replied back "Well I'm online working on submitting an application to the University of New Hampshire and boy is there application process complicated...." and I was like "WHAT!?!?!?" :) So, I dialed him up on Google video chat and we started talking. Long story short, he made up his mind that he wanted to be with me and wanted to give living with me in New Hampshire a shot. (LOL understand that we talked for a LONG time, but that was the final outcome of it). Hehehe, and by the end of the conversation, the wheels were in motion and plans for him to move out here to NH were being formed. How crazy/awesome is that!?!?!
LOL now, on top of it all, this weekend, Joe Manzo is coming up from Philadelphia for a visit! I can't wait to see him and be able to spend some quality time 1-1 together (the few times we've hung out before, it's always been w/a group of friends). He flies in tomorrow morning and is here until Monday :)
September 6, 2010: I feel like I'm living in a dream. There is so much good energy in my life right now, it doesn't even seem real. I just spent an amazing weekend with an equally amazing guy. Joe flew in on Saturday afternoon, and since his arrival, it's just been all smiles. I can't remember the last time I connected so quickly and deeply with someone. Every minute we've spent together has been really amazing. I am so blessed and lucky to have had the opportunity to spend this time with him, especially with Eric's interment arrival to New Hampshire not too far off now. /Le sigh... this time I really have to laugh at you, Universe, and your sense of timing..... really? really? :)
So, things are moving at warp speed with Eric. As of today he has:
LOL yep, so it looks like he's really going to do this. Honestly, right now, it's still pretty surreal.... even though in a few hours, I'm getting on a plane to fly out there to be with him! The plan right now is that after next weekend, we are going to pack up his car and drive cross country together from San Francisco, CA to Dover, NH. LOL wow.... we'll see if it happens or not.... in the words of a close friend "just drift and see where this all takes you...." :)
September 16, 2010: LOL well, talk about a road trip!!! So, here's what happened over the past two weeks:
I flew out to CA on September 6 and spent the week out there working during the days, and spending the rest of my time with Eric as he prepped for the big move. It was an exciting, nerve wracking time, and crazy time as there was all sorts of crazy energy floating around and I really didn't know how to handle it, but in the end, just trying to remain 'present' and take things one day at a time paid off :) By the end of the week, everything was in place and on Friday night, the two of us met up with a bunch of our friends at Truck for some drinks to celebrate the impending move. Kevin, Dave, Noam, Matte, Brian, Kai, Justin and Ryan were among those who showed up to wish us well as we prepared to head off and we had already spend some quality time with Matt and Chris earlier in the week. It was a really fun night and by midnight, we were back at Eric's place and crashed out.
On Saturday, it was off to San Jose to spend the day with the Consola's. Matte, Chris, Brian and Kai joined me and Eric for dinner. LOL the funny part was that their own son, Matt, was out of town doing a gig in TX, but that didn't stop the rest of us from going down and spending the day with our extended family for another memorable meal :) As always, it's was spectacular eating event and Ma Consola outdid herself once again. It was a wonderful day with family and friends, and it being September 11th had a special meaning for many of us and we hoisted our glasses to remember our loved ones who were lost 9 years ago:
"Graham, you are missed and love today a little bit more than most days. You still live on through your family and friends who still love you and cherish your memory as it should be."
And on Sunday September 12, with help from his roommates Jordan and Michael, Eric and I packed up his car (almost everything fit ;) and after a few big hugs, we headed over to Dublin where we'd spend the afternoon with his family. We had a really nice visit with his Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother in law and niece and it sure made me feel good to meet the rest of his family. They are really nice people and you could tell that they really cared for Eric a lot. So after an afternoon filled with lots of laughter, smiles and a few tears, at 6 PM, we bid our farewells, got into the car, and the 4 of us (me, Eric, his 65 lb English Bull Terrier and a beta fish in a plastic cup) began the road trip from CA to NH!
So, all in all, the trip was pretty uneventful, which was a good thing! We decided to drive straight through and only stop for gas, food and 'bio-breaks' ;) Here is a our timeline:
As soon as we got home, we zonked out and slept for about 5 hours. Later on that day, we did a few errands including stopping by the DMV where Eric got his NH drivers license, and doing some grocery shopping.
And one of the big unknowns about this whole move was how Kilo and Clarice would get along. I've got to say, Clarice has done really well accepting Kilo into the house, especially after spending over a week with the neighbors and then coming home to find a new member of the household. There have been a few growls and some snarls, but all in all, there's a lot of tail wagging going on and that's a good sign :) I'm pretty confident that the two of them are going to do well together :)
And suffice to say, with a big grin on each of our faces, cuddled up together, Eric and I slept like rocks that night, our first night in our home together :)
September 28, 2010: It's been a good and busy last couple of weeks. Eric is still adjusting to being in Dover, NH and so far, he's doing pretty well. Belive me, I appreciate just how big of a jump he took to try this out, and have been doing everything I can to make the transition go as smooth as possible. The next big checkpoints for him will be to get a job (he's been sending out resumes everyday!) and to get ready to enroll in junior college for next semester to pick up a few key classes before enrolling at UNH in the spring for the fall semester.
